It’s been 25 years. Women Transcending Boundaries remembers and honors those who died on 9/11 and the brave rescuers who have died thereafter.
The tragedy and terrorism melted our hearts. But from that flowed a stream of love which became Women Transcending Boundaries, a group of women who vowed to be “an egalitarian community of women from many faith and cultural traditions seeking to nurture mutual respect and understanding.“
For 25 years we have shown outreach and caring for other by building a school in Pakistan, organizing a local day of service with dozens of projects across the Syracuse metro areas on a 9/11 anniversary, gathering food and clothes for those in our community who didn’t have any.
Through WTB we have learned all about each other’s traditions at birth, puberty, marriage and death. We’ve heard from social justice speakers. We And we have learned so much about each other, different faith and cultural traditions and that we are more alike than we are different. If you’d like to read more of the history, click here.
