The theme of authoritarianism and the struggle to keep one’s humanity in a tough world are two of the themes in the February WTB Book Club selection, “Prophet Song” by Paul Lynch.

The book focuses on a family in Ireland who struggles after the father is taken by the secret police. It won the Booker Prize in 2023. Its unusual format is a stream-of-consciousness style with long sentences and no quotations.
WTB women will discuss it Monday, February 9 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. The group welcomes new women to discuss it. Contact babova<at>aol.com for the link to the group.
If you’d like to get a headstart on the March discussion, it will be by a Syracuse local author Marilyn Higgins, “Dreams of Freedom.” That Book Club is set for March 9
