A Metro Syracuse Women's Group Founded after 9/11/01
A statue of Sadako holding a crane above her head stands in Hiroshima Peace Park; the inscription reads: “This is our cry. This is our prayer. For building peace in the world.” In her memory, we worked together to make origami cranes symbolizing our hopes for peace.
Table dialogues at the CNY Rise Center addressed questions: “Have you ever transcended a boundary?” and “What boundaries do you feel women have left to transcend?”
Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Buddhist panelists addressed two questions: How have death and dying affected your life personally and professionally? What are the thoughts of your faith community regarding death and dying?
