Tapestry Garden Continues to Flourish

Way back in 2009, several women from WTB collaborated with other community groups to reclaim a vacant lot on the north side of Syracuse. The purpose was to create a community garden which would meet the needs of families of the New Americans who were primarily from agrarian areas. Each family was offered a small plot of land where they could grow vegetables of their choice, hopefully easing their transition to this strange new country! And so, the Tapestry Garden on Isabella St. was born. The community of people who work the garden have come together to cooperate, raise vegetables and share the harvest. What a joy to see from this recent photo that the Tapestry Garden is still vibrant and flourishing!
