A social activist. A convert to Roman Catholicism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dorothy Day co-founded the Catholic Worker Movement and worked for social justice throughout her adult life. She lived to the age of 83 and died in 1980.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her autobiography, &#8220;<em>The Long Loneliness,<\/em>&#8221; chronicles her life from the literary scene of the 1920s to her work, as she said, to bring about \u201cthe kind of society where it is easier to be good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Book Club is a good way to introduce a friend to WTB.
