The book culminates in an event called the Big Oakland Powwow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Orange is a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. He writes, \u201c<em>We made powwows because we needed a place to be together. Something intertribal, something old, something to make us money, something we could work toward, for our jewelry, our songs, our dances, our drum<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Book Club meets  on Zoom from 7-9 in the evening.
