Eastern Farm Workers representatives said they are a volunteer-run organization involved with low-income working families. It supports those affected by factory closings, farmers during “bad years,” service employees, single parents, and the elderly.
We considered 3 questions: who do you perceive to be “the other”? When have you perceived yourself to be “the other?” and “What could you see yourself doing so that “the other” is no longer “the other”?
Girls and adults talked about their experiences of making a difference, urging people in the audience to “do whatever you can, with whatever you have, wherever you are.”
